On your first appointment brief details of your medical history will be discussed and recorded. This is to allow Shirley to get a clearer picture of you as a person and to enable you to discuss any concerns you may have and find out more about what happens during a Classical Kinesiology treatment.
Each treatment will last between one hour and one and a half hours. You will be asked to lie comfortably on a couch, you will not need to remove any clothes apart from your shoes. Gentle muscle testing, usually using the arm, is used to identify any imbalances in the body. Each treatment is unique to the individual client.
Shirley uses high quality practioner only supplements in her practice to support the body in its healing process. These are sourced from several companies such as Nutri, where she has attended training in "Calming Nervous Hyperarousal: Managing Anxiety, Restless Sleep and Fatigue" and "Restoring Optimal Digestive Health: Effective Clinical Management of Functional Gastro-intestinal Disorders."
She also uses Phytobiophysics Flower Formulas in her treatments which support the client on a physical, emotional and spiritual level.
Kinesiology identifies factors which block the body's natural healing process. These dysfunctions are corrected by attention to reflex points to stimulate lymphatic flow, circulation and energy, the use of specific body movements and nutritional support, therefore helping the body to heal itself.
Classical Kinesiology was developed by a chiropractor, George Goodheart, in the 1960's. He was intrigued to discover that there was a link between muscle response and energy circuits or meridians in the body. By accurate muscle testing Goodheart was able to identify any imbalances in the body and to evaluate the appropriate treatment to correct these imbalances.
Fitness and health are dependent on the body having the correct resources to allow it to function at its optimum level according to the demands put upon it. The body requires that certain nutrients, chemicals and hormones are readily available to enable it to function as it should.
